Fireworks

Emotions like fireworks
Explode upon the air
Sending forth both
Laughter and our tears
Emotions stir within us
Expressing pain and joy
Leaving scars deeply hidden
Friends, family, lovers
Provide a safety net for
In sharing emotions we
Understand each other's struggles
And fireworks show off their beauty
pressed against a darkened sky
Blazing hope for dreams yet
Unfulfilled for they will shine
In future skies.
