Guardian of the Necklace

A lovely necklace, a choker with beads; given to me as a cast off. I placed it tenderly in the dresser drawer. On several occasions I attempted to wear the necklace, but something wasn't quite right and I returned it to the dresser for safe keeping. I was in possession of this necklace for several years. Not once did I wear it, yet I was unable to part with this piece of art.

Now I will attempt to share this true story about a necklace that filled me with wonder. A scheduled meeting of two women arranged by some higher force. A story of heritage untold and the spirit of her people that came to reclaim this young woman of her birthright and her name.

In the workplace we shared the same scheduled supper break. We exchanged pleasant conversation, nothing personal. She spoke of school and plans for a better future. I listened, enjoying her company; admiring her goals. These meetings continued for two months until our schedules at work changed.Yet this event I tell will forever remain.

One evening while wearing the lovely necklace and feeling dressed for a special occasion, I stood in front of the full length mirror. What I saw was not myself but clearly the face of the young woman who had been sharing my office breaks.

Immediately, this necklace was removed. I ran for an envelope, gently folded the necklace placed it inside and sealed it with her name marked unmistakably on the outside.

Thinking I would never see her again, I left it at the reception area with instructions that it be given to her at the next days work schedule; which of course was now different from mine.

Upon receiving the necklace events unfolded. She contacted family she had left behind. She had needed change and for a time denial of her heritage. When she spoke with her mother, over the telephone, she discribed the necklace.

Excitement ensued, with instructions to box the necklace and mail it home.
Her mother examined the necklace with care and inquired if I had been told of her background. The answer was "no"

I cannot explain this happening. I believe some spirit force was sent; to restore this displaced woman for her family and to help ignite a story, that I am sure will have been told. A story of a stranger met at the workplace, far from her home, who left a gift of a necklace that marked her heritage.

This vision necklace changed our lives, for her family bonds and heritage were restored. For me, it was a mystical experience, unforgetable in my lifetime.

I have shared this story with you today because I believe in the unseen. Perhaps this mother prayed for her daughters return. Perhaps her heritage was strong and in need of acknowledgement. A vital fiber to be carried forward. Perhaps, it was one more experience for me in faith of things unseen.

You decide what lessons were to be learned, by all those touched from a vision necklace. Two strangers from different backgrounds, brought together by chance? Yet we served some purpose that we may never fully understand.

God works in mysterious ways. You were obedient and listened to him -- hearts were healed and lives were changed.

Ah Pauline, Yes Pauline,
There is a Higher Being
Creator of All Things Seen & Unseen

And sometimes these things
They touch and they swim
they bruefly meet and gently kiss
like reflections in a mirror
like reflections on a river stream.

Great (true) story
Here's loving

Truely the world is full of God's mysteries and His handiwork. I was honored to be part of this plan; however small a role I played it was one that touched my soul.
