A City Tree

Once the trees outnumbered man
And the ground was hallowed
The air was sweet like food
It satisfied the soul
Now it's all concrete and brick
Cold and barren ground
No tender leaves to watch unfold
Or herald each new season
Gone today it stands no more
The mighty oak so tall
Perhaps they will think to plant
Some flowers as we place upon
A grave in memory of a fine tree
One which was not appreciated
Nor loved as it should be.

Yep
Sacredness of Nature
Sacredness of Tree
Sacredness of Life

All sacredness often 'ignored'
Wishing you a beautiful day, and that some large tree may offer you shade on a hot & baking day!

Have you read Shel Silverstein's, "The Giving Tree?"

We have a well worn copy of The Giving Tree in this house. It is a truly moving story about giving...I am beginning to feel we have more in common than we may have expected. Love and best wishes.
