Stance of Orion

Stance of a giant
Warrior-hunter
Of the skies
His girth bedecked
With diamonds
Power without noise
He stands in watchfulness
To capture
Loose celestial stars
That run before his sword

Out viewing the skies in this cold.
I await spring when milky way is cloudy-streaky and hides the ends of the universe.

Your poem caused a smile on me

I got a telescope for Christmas and can't wait for warm weather so I can view Orion.

To look up at a star filled sky is a wonder that cannot be explained but has to be experiences. When I was young I'd lay on my back on the lawn at night and try to count the stars.

Living in the city one cannot see the stars, some day I'll lay on my back and count the stars again.

Thank you for sharing Pauline, I hope that all is well with you.
