How can I tell you what I wish to express
You filled my childhood with happiness
Because of you, I had a home with solid
Foundation to build my life upon
Because of you and your fatherly ways
I am the person I am today
With husband, children, grandchildren too
Because of your love and caring
It's true
You will never realize the many moments
I recall being with you, time shared in
The garden with roses and hedges
The smell of fresh sawdust from
Your work project on the cellar floor
That root beer barrel and your famous
Smile, as you pour three children this
Special homemade treat and prepare
A special rootbeer float
You took us in and changed our path
All that I enjoy today is due from a
Memory of you
Even the photos that I take, they are
A copy of you an imprint of the life you
Shared
How can I tell you the love you shared
Will never end
I carry every memory within and I pass
Along these snapshots of the uncle that
I knew
Your garden grows, love's circle enlarges
With each year
Because of You!
