We are so over scheduled
Rushing to ,coming from...
It is difficult to find quiet
Moments to share and visit
With one another unassaulted
By radios, television, video games
The myriad of magical technologies
That mark and enhance our days.
Yet on a two hour drive to Connecticut
Much to my joy
Technology failed and after some
Grumbles of complaint
A grandchild and I were given
The priceless gift of time
Encapsulated in a moving van
We talked, laughed, shared thoughts
Scary dreams, talents,fears,concerns.
On the ride home boredom was
No longer an issue to discuss.
She snuggled tenderly, holding my hand.
No words were needed to express the
Gift received by both of us. We were
Comfortable with nothingness.
Enjoying a tender moment of togetherness.

Beautiful and what a great gift for you both.
The advance of technoloigy was supposedly to free us for more moments like this -- instead it now claims our attention and we have to wait for technology to fail to connect with our loved ones. I'm glad you had that time.
