An Empty Box

There is something wonderful
About a large empty box and a
Young child
They walk along its side, turn it
Over, and crawl inside
They examine it from every angle
Perhaps considering
How they will replace the emptiness
In their lifetime
An empty box for a child is often the
Item that becomes the toy while
What was purchased is cast aside!

One could save a lot of money and just buy the box! The year my sister received her Grandfather clock the kids were overjoyed with the box.

My daughter always loved the boxes more than the toys.

Lol!
True, It is only we adults that tear the wrapping to expectantly look at what's in the box.
To the child the box is a wonder!
