Witness to a ceremony of faith
Watching in earnest yet not
Understanding
Exactly what took place
Chosen people approach the
Altar kneeling
Before their priest, incense and
Holy water
Accompany your space
Then the crown is placed upon
Your head
The priest uttering a blessing
Young, old, feeble and strong
All seek this crowning
Each with their private story
We witness this moment of faith
Longing to participate
To receive and be blessed with
The gift unseen
Yet powerfully felt.
