Celebrate

Such a beautiful day with family
Our children gathered around
The table decorated with faces
Of the next generation
Our grandchildren
Laughter and hugs shared
Love woven through the years
No need to express in words
Its presence is visible
Tangible small lamps shedding
Light into our futures
People woven into the unique fabric
Of family
Each expressing individualism yet needing
the Weavers tool that binds us together for
Strength, warmth, security and foundation
This day was a celebration of our married life
A reward for years now gone
This day shone with a beauty more precious
Than the rarest gemstone.

A Family get together is always a blessed event. Reading this I can see in my mind a Norman Rockwell picture. Your words are always so comforting, I enjoy visiting here.

A Blessed day for you Pauline and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Trust me we are no Norman Rockwell!
Actually our eldest daughter has decided once again to opt out of the family gathering. When she is absent I miss her; when she is present she changes the event to turmoil. Family is not always easily experienced. It is infact quite complex; "do the best we can"
Some of my writings are factual and some of them fantacy; all are written with feelings of what is or wished to be! Love from the U.S.A.

The thoughts expressed so beautifully.

We always hope for the best, but we must accept what is. I tried running away from my family when I was younger, but came to accept that they were so much a part of me I couldn't live without them. And I learned that I was much of the problems and began to work on changing me instead of them.

Our gatherings are much better now. I also learned not to expect perfection in anyone, mostly myself.

Goldennib, thought I would get through the day with dry eyes, then I read your post. Guess I still have issues not addressed. Thank you for the words. Have a wonderful day with those you share your time, laughter and meal...

Katie as always thanks for visiting. I enjoy your post as well. Have a lovely holiday!
