Speaking of Indians

Speaking of Indians by Ella Deloria
Ela Deloria's comments made in 1944 "Speaking of Indians" is a must read for anyone interested in human relations. It is as appropriate in 2007 as when first written. A timeless piece of thoughts, longings and grievances. Reading this book left me pondering its application for todays society. Technologies ability to isolate individuals from human contact and interaction. Although she wrote with heart felt messages for her people, her work is applicable to each minority group within America. The separation from society as a whole. The language barriers. I am forced to re-read from the first page to ensure I have not imagined the treasure of philosopical advice and wisdom of this writer.

Pauline, this sounds like a book I'd like to read. I usually have better luck with the books I buy, if someone with sort of a 'like-mind', has read them first and commented favorably on them. Thanks.

Thanks Jackie for that round about compliment; I donot think you would be disappointed if you are at all interested in real American background.Read between the lines.
