Confectionary sugar

My world is clean this morning
City streets, sidewalks, houses
Are draped in light powdery snow
City views are transformed from
Grey and dark street tones to the
Lightness of a confectionery sugar
Coat
I must step out and view quickly
This lovely sight
Before any footstep, dog track, car
Or shovel leave their little marks
For now at this very moment our
City has been dressed in lovely white
Confectionery sugar tops!

I love fresh fallen untouched snowscapes -- as long as all I have to do is look at them from inside a nice, warm, toasy house.

Hi Pauline,
that's when snow is most beautiful
It was cold enough this morning in Cambridge for snow to dance in the air blown by the wind. But the flakes were so small they never reached the ground. Then the bright yellow Sun warmed just a touch, and the dancing flakes were gone like 'dust' or 'smoke' into thin air

Totally yummy!

I do enjoy those gentle sugar dusting... you described so sweetly.

"Virgin snow" is one of the prettiest, magical? things one may experience, yeap.
It is forever changed when somehow disturbed.

Love and joy to you and yours dear PAuline

The last picture I post tomorrow is just that..."Confectionary Sugar." theHansMan and I took a drive the other day, and I described it just that way. Of course, not talented like you to make it a poem. Love the poem.

What a sweet way of looking at snow. That clean, fresh look is one of the things I love most about it.

Hi Pauline

I like the look of fresh fallen snow, about 1 or 2 inches that falls but not is blown around by wind. Especially at Christmas with the lights twinkling through it.

I don't like having to drive in it with "FOOLS" who seem to think they are driving on bare ground. Or hte kind of snow that comes down and is blown into drifts.

Have a wonderful day my friend.

Blessings and love from Canada

Aaah Pauline! At last
We've had our fine dusting of pictyresque icing sugar like snow to wake up to this morning

I love the idea of a landscape covered in confectioner's sugar. To me, a fresh blanket of snow is fascinating because it covers all that is dark and ugly with a veneer of purity. It's only as deep as the snow and it only lasts for as long as people, dogs and cars stay out of it. But it's beautiful all the same.

quilldancer, fresh snow is a pretty sight although I'm not so very sure of the toasty house. I am pleased we have been experiencing a mild winter so far this year. Tonight of course it is so cold we feel it through the walls of the house.

quasar, snow dancing in the air. Very nice indeed :)

angeldust, yummy indeed!

swampwitch, I'll soon come to visit your snow photographs.

goldennib, snow seems to bring out the child in me, which I enjoy not suppressing too often! lol

Bill, the snow and cold does affect the irratic driving og everyone except you and I...Love from the USA :)

batty, thanks for visiting. I must say I think crochet is easier than knitting. I never quite got the hang of those two clicking needles!
