The smell of coffee
The flavor of foods
Energy levels that
Flow untaxed
Clear thoughts that
Tackle each task
Lord, how do we
Manage to take so
Much for granted
Gifts by the hundreds
Unfold each day
Placed before us in
Quiet subtle ways
Yet unnoticed
Daily
For that is our human
Failure
We take for granted
Gifts by the hundreds
Simple treasures that
We ignore
Until some germ knocks
At our body's door
Causing each gift to
Disappear and the
Absence is grumbled
About with concern or fear
I can't smell, can't taste,
Can't hear, can't swallow,
Can't work too long for
This body aches
Only yesterday I had these
Gifts
Unnoticed
Forgive me Lord, I forgot
To pause
And give you thanks for
Each and every unnoticed
Gift
You, send my way!

Aaah Pauline
In full flurry
the words cascade
like a string of pearls
Hi Pauline, and I so love
resting and drinking at your place,
your peaceful well & fount of wisdom
So true Pauline! Blessed be!
Oh, Pauline! Are you ill? I hope you're soon feeling better again. And it is so true that we never seem to appreciate what we have until we've lost it.
Very nice, Pauline. This is one of my goals for 2007. Take better notice of the small gifts.
Happy New year.
ahh....profound and so true.
I got sick 3 times last year.
i love this poem. like quasar9 says, it does cascade so well, so beautifully. and the message so true. i take all too much for granted and spend not enough time thanking God for the precious gifts He gives. Health to you!
Good for Me
