Verbal History

One man standing before
A room full of quiet people
Each word spoken slowly
Purposely shared
Every pause a story untold
His presence is strong, meaningful
One man standing before us
Embracing cultural histories
A living witness to our text book lies
One man speaking of the circle of life
And our continuation
That we, each individual
Are not really who we think
For we are each our ancestors
Linked within, like a golden chain
Words expressed with deep emotion
As he states that the notes we take
Cannot tell his story
Listening
My heart understands
For words written with pen lack
Capacity to describe
His being
His presence
His intent
His heartfelt song unsung
Suppressed for his audience
He felt unable to fully understand.
Extraordinary spirit that I was blessed
To meet and listen to his views
On space and place.

And every man's histroy links to every other man. We are each seperate, and we are all one.

Wonderful words Pauline, thanks for sharing. Just proves no man is an Island.

Glad you like my leap back to blogger. I thought the old template would be nice to bring back.

quasar, thanks for the thanks!

quilldancer, isn't so basic a lesson that we often forget we are one. Best wishes

Bill, I do enjoy the old template very much. It is beautiful and inviting. Am I going to have to change the address again? Between you and quilldancer I have lost track of which addresses have been updated! lol
