Love's Glow

She stood there in the corridor
Waiting for me to recognize her
Dressed in cream colored clothes
With a jacket to match
Pearl earrings fell from each ear
Like gentle raindrops
A smile announcing her genuine
Happiness
She was adorned with the loveliest
Aura of loves glow
Look at you all fancy, I teased and
Her smile widened
You look beautiful!
I'm getting married today
The words poured out of her in a
Youthful dreamy way expressing
Hopes for future days that would be
Filled with the joy she held today
So many thoughts raced through my
Mind in that one fraction of time
They spilled into each other unexpressed
Needing somehow to be suppressed
Love's glow was all that I could see
No struggle, no disappointment, no fear
No heartache
Only dreamy eyes
Beautiful smile
Radiant skin
New clothes and self pampering
I was touched in sharing a young woman's
Dream of this new beginning
One man one woman to be joined in marriage
Now this silent prayer I offer
That loves glow witnessed today will endure
Life's trials
That this couple I don't really know will
Grow old together
That this young woman will fondly recall
This meeting with well wishes and forever more
That she may claim, if but a portion of this days
Love's glow.
