If I Could Live Forever

If I could live forever
I would long to be
A smile, a comfort
A gentle word in time
Of need
If I could live forever
I would yearn to share
The goodness and love
Of family and friends
I would seek to embrace
Everyone that I meet
Welcoming each with
Ideas to share
If I could live forever
I would wish to be a
Gentle breeze of sweet
Relief
A soothing song that
Unburdens the soul
A resting place of comfort,
Ease and hope.

Perhaps you will, through your poetry, and in and through it, be all those things.

A wonderful wish Pauline, and with your poetry and blog you will.

Pauline,
it is those words
those very thoughts
that will ensure ...
for life is more than the flesh
this is but primary school, or
kindergarten for the life to come

The world with no suffering, no sadness, no hate, no pain, no decay and no death ... for the spirit cannot die ... only matter can decay and fade and pass away

I was thinking of your poem , and how we pass on ourselves through our choices... through our family and friends... through our words, our art... such a wonderful thought!

so light and airy. i really felt this. to meet a person like that is a privaledge. to be a person like that, a gift.

Pauline! I did read this but did not leave a comment, the server was acting up. i loved everybit of the line.

If we live forever, we become one with the world...a soothing song, a smile, embrace, forever. The idea of forever and you have answered the essence of forever.
