Nana to the rescue!

This morning was busy with a list of borrowed items to be returned. By 8:30 a.m. I was almost finished with house hopping and errands. The next to the last stop was my daughters house. Arriving, I was very surprised to see her car still there. She should have been driving the children to school.
Entering the house with a hearty "good morning!" my granddaughter raced toward me saying, "Mama is stuck."
Attempting to imagine where this statement would lead me and my emergency responses kicking in, I made her repeat her statement. This gave me ample time to think of alternatives for the unknown emergency situation that I would face.
Fortunately, my daughter was physically fine, merely frustrated that the bathroom door knob had broken and she was locked inside.
My unexpected arrival turned into a rescue mission, one phone call to a neighbor, a hammer and screwdriver in my hand, I pretended to know what I was doing. Moving the lock this way and that until mysteriously the door swung open and my forty year old daughter sprang loose as though she had been held captive for days.

Her first question to me was "what are you doing today?" Smiling at the mysterious duty of locksmith at this early hour, I replied that I had a number of things on my list permitting me to clean up from yesterday's baby shower party. Good, she stated I have to leave for the school and arrive for a 10:00 appointment; so wonderful that I freed her from the locked door thus enabling her to run full speed into another hectic day!!!
This is an accurate account, one that makes me smile. My life is filled with unexpected events and when asked "what are you doing today" I never know the answer until the very end...

Hi Pauline,
thanks for the kind thought, I could have avoided the head on collision, however there is little point on simply nodding in agreement, even if one does not agree

I had a friend that spent 9 hours locked in his bathroom because the doorknob broke. He was rescued by a coworker who knew he would never willingly not show up for work without calling in.
