Such a short journey
Only nine months
Yet we are changed
We are stretched
Physically and emotionally
Written upon with stretch marks
And memories of moments that
Later we recall in remembering
This experience of a new life's journey
We are taught each level of emotion
Sharing the "joy" of laughter
The "deep sighs" of concern
The "tears" of worry and relief
Such a short journey
Only nine months
Yet we are thrust into an intense
Learning of life and love
Such a short journey
That changes us from an individual
Into a parent, a mother, a family
Such a wondrous, confusing,
