Office Trainee

With childlike statement he
exclaimed
"I'm bored"
what pearls of wisdom
could I lend
to offset the stillness
and quiet that clings
heavy upon the air
silence is what we often
seek yet when imposed

a punishment feels embraced
a voice from a distant room
speaks to herself for company

it is boring, what can I say
a library has more activity
with giggles and ssh-es and
muffled dreams suppressed
between the pages of the books

Little does this trainee know
the peaceful silence is a gift
from speedtrack activities that
wait unannounced turning this
golden moment into frantic pace

I'm not bored. I am packig, selling, tosing all that I own. I wish for a moment of boredom! (I'd nap.)

Wow. You expressed something I knew - but didn't know I knew. That I hadn't thought about. And you did it so well!
