our cars
our clothes
our computers
we seem to forget
our dependency
upon the bounty
of the earth
seeds planted today
nourish and sustain
our tomorrows
farm fresh vegetables
with texture
colors
flavors beyond compare
are the earth's
gentle reminder
giving, sustaining
nourishing
strengthening
continuing
like silent beads of prayer

I like the whole cycle of growing something - and I like the way you write about it.
mmmmmm I love gardening.. the cycle of life .... eating what I've grown organically.... picked fresh daily....
lovely reminder and affirmation of thankfulness!
There is nothing better than fruits and vegetables freshly picked from your own garden.
My Mum and Dad always had a garden planted and I loved going out to it and finding a radish or a carrot and picking it and enjoying a quck treat.
It is very true we need Nature's Bounty to keep our bodies nourished.
Thank you for sharing Pauline,
No Pauline, we've had rude reminders too. Still we refuse to wake up. What ever we eat, what ever we have comes from earth. We have no options. Mother earth is all giving, we have proved to be bad children. Mother earth has the capacity to heal itself but we are not allowing it to do so. Its time we give back what we take from mother earth. There is hope as long as gentle and thoughtful people like you out there.
i have written on this subject at great length, a 14 part series in my blog.
jackie, it is a fascinating cycle.
katie, organically grown. :)
goldennib, :)
Bill, was it you that ate quilly's carrot.....:)
rauf,we have much to learn. people are confused by the word progress. that word gives people buying power but removes them from the real power of connection to earth and its genuine treasure of life.
Soon we will be taught (if only the hard way) the values of nature.
Stumbled on your blog. Thanks for gentle reminder through poetical words.
