The People Next Door

Salt air vs. Tobacco
We shall not miss the absence
of cheap cigars and cigarettes
We shall not miss the attitude
Of his self imposed importance
Today the air is fresh and begs
us to breath deeply
Salt air vs. Tobacco
We reclaim the salty ocean
breeze with chairs upon the deck
Gone away and sad to say the folks
next door will not be missed
Smiling we proclaim the victory
of salt air over cigars and cigarettes!

I love the smell of the Salt Air and I quite miss it living so far inland. Though I sometimes swear I can smell the salt in the air living in Calgary out on the Prairie. I wonder if the air is coming over the Mountains from the Pacific?

Thank you for sharing today Pauline, you always seem to write something to give me a friendly reminder of quieter times living on the East Coast.

I can smell clearly now, the neighbor's gone. I can smell the fresh salt on breeze. Gone is the tobacco smoke that fouled my air. It's a bright, bright, bright fresh-air kind of day ...

Bill, we love the smell of the salt air as well. Sometimes we need to be reminded just how much we enjoy it and miss it being taken from us!Our chairs are back on the deck, we had retreated for the last two years. Stinky has now moved and we won't shed any tears...

rhea, thanks for your visit, sorry you stopped by on a day I was registering a complaint :)

jackie, thanks for smiling; the lovely smokers now have a new address. I only hope their new neighbors are into cigars and cigarettes.....
