Clowns Cry

Clowns cry
on the inside
so as not to
wash away
the painted smile
upon
their face
an expression
painted there
to offer joy
and plain old
silliness
Clowns cry
on the inside
so they won't
disturb
the offering
of playfulness
and joy
they long
to share

Hi pauline! Clowns are the saddest people. Sometimes it's good to clown away!

sad that clowns have to cry inside

I think its a romantically sad idea, this person who makes others laugh, and is sad inside.. its just a concept that touches our sympathies. But in real life it would be impossible to live that way. clowns have a job to do, to feed thier stomach likehte rest of us, and some of them do it pretty well. :). are the modern day comedians a take off on them?

( though I've never liked watching clowns even as a kid, one I got to see from close and his eyes didnt look at all like those of a kind person.)
