Patchwork Of People

America a land
of immigrants
a land of people
chasing dreams
a land of people
running toward
freedoms embrace
to live a life set
by their own terms
freedom to worship
or not
freedom to vote
or not
freedom to believe
or not
in all choices
presented here
America a land
of immigrants
a land where
hearts hold dear
memories
of family ties and
heritage somewhere
brought to America
to fullfill life's dreams
where people
choose to live
no matter what
their race or
place of origin
enjoying the gift
so great
of freedom
weaved among a
patchwork of people
so diverse

Hi Pauline! Hoho...America may be land of immigrants, she's got the best lot of people there...a land blessed with brightest, smartest, most diligent people and a land filled with resources yet fraught with natural disasters.

What I love about your land is you're resourceful and forward looking. People dare to fail and pick up the pieces and move on. Unlike some countries...

What happy looking children, I can assume they were the Wee Visitors on Halloween

so well written...nowadays we forget what means much to us and we deny the others the same freedom that we want.

twilite, thank you for such lovely comments.

bill, yes our visitors from Halloween. We had over two hundred visitors! It was a lovely evening.

ghost, We do take much for granted no matter where we live. For me I enjoy the diversity of city life, its people, its views, its many opportunities to learn and share traditions and beliefs.

truly!!

America is such a great melting pot, it seems like everything would need to be worked out here, before it works out elsewhere.
