That drum looks like a quilt.
I was thinking the same thing Nessa... with a pinwheel pattern.
Hi katie! It is a pretty pattern and the sound magnificent. I am not a big fan of drumming but this demonstration was a powerful lesson in energies...nessa, I agreemystic rose, If by chance you come to visit please know that I stopped by. Today it seems I am not welcome unless by invitation :(
One evening a few nights before Christmas there was a fellow in Kapiolani park playing one of these. OC and I walked along the shore hand-in-hand listening. Where were you? Why didn't you say hello?
Hi Pauline! I thought I'd left a comment but... African drum? I love drum beats. It's one form of music to me...be African, Latin American, pop music or Oriental like Japanese or Chinese or...any drum beat!

oh yes, something utterly joyful about drums. your heart does resonate with them.
