Merging

As night melts away
empty branches raise
their limbs against a
leaden sky
giving alms to unseen
power
slowly charcoal grey is
transformed
challenged yet blended
with blue of day
black bird lingers upon
tree as if to view the sunrise
with wings spread wide he
glides upon the
gentle breeze
lights gradually disappear
from window panes
silence envelopes pre-dawn
air
songbirds pose to sing
as night melts away
merging the
darkness into day

night is immortal, day is mortal. How we slip in and out of heaven and earth. But the best part is the transition, its a transcendence experience. Excellent writeup.

I just love experiencing your poetry. Can I just say "pretty" over and over again?

Hi Pauline! Another great write! Conjuring these images during winter make this more poignant.
