I threw out my world today
It was outdated no longer
Providing current knowledge
Only history of what was
Borders changed, countries
Inhaled by others, thus losing
Their identity.
For a brief moment I hesitated
Because it did reflect what was
But in letting go I can deal with
What is.
I watched the trash man spin
My world upon its axis
He looked it over considering
Its worth
He pointed out discrepancies
To his co-worker
I only felt the spin, the changes
Represented, the letting go
Of all that was to enable me
To create room for each
New border of what will be.
