Come Along For The Ride

It gets more difficult each
Year to spread a little cheer
People aren't willing to give
A quick smile
Stress and frustration fill
The air
Postcards with photographs
Of horse drawn sleigh reflect
A stillness and calm of people
And nature
Are we now so advanced
And modernized
Instead of sleigh bells we
Only hear sighs
Of work, of worry, of too
Much to do
It truly gets more difficult with
Each passing year
To offer a smile
A sincere wish too
For peace, contentment
For joyfulness
For uplifted spirits
Joined in song
It can be magic
Come along for the ride
No horse drawn sleigh
But no more sighs!
