Each time our daughter decides to move; I go on a cleaning spree.
Filling boxes with extra plates and cups for serving company hot tea.
Never realizing the surplus that I store, some back-up plan to entertain for
those few times a year, when we all claim some joy of sharing same place,
same time, same sharing of space.
The surplus plates line shelves and wait as if they had already known their
day of need that would arrive without me being told.
Each time our daughter decides to move, I seem to have a surplus of staples
that she needs. Good thing I was a girl scout trained always to "Be Prepared".
This surplus truly amazes me for I think that we run lean.
Perhaps it isn't my way but the angels from above that
whisper softly in my ear to store away for safe keeping, for someday soon
I'll need to give them all away!

That's really sweet Pauline!
Pauline -- I am planning a move (prossibly in your direction!) and I am looking at my surplus in a totally different light.
I have way too much stuff and I don't know why. I've never been without, but I may need it some day.
Pauline, this made me smile...seems I store surplus for my son!
