Dinner at the Diner

The Diner
Men sitting in a row
Lined up as bowling pins
People watching
So many stories untold
Loneliness and sorrow
Lives that somehow
Turned into the fast lane
Faces that revealed the
Choices made
Dinner at the diner
Seemed a fun idea
Yet not a place I would
Chose to frequent
Too much sadness there.

Diners can be as sad as small hometown bars. Places to hang out for people who have no where else to go.

Nessa just spoke my thoughts.

Yes ladies, it made me count my blessings, some of which I take for granted and even grumble about!
