Gone Are The Leaves

Gone are the leaves
of green
"Robbed"
of their brilliant
autumn color
cut by man
natures privacy shield
removed
only to unveil
a city street
with rows of fences
houses with their backs
turned to us
gone are the leaves
of green
while I sigh, the clouds
themselves send down
their shower of tears

This is beautiful..tinged with a bit of sadness . I've always enjoyed my privacy.. and love the scent and glorious colours of fall...

I hope you are doing well Pauline!

Fall -- the month that unveils your neighbors. Your words are as beautiful as the colors of the leaves.

Hi Pauline! Autumn or fall for me is the shading of leaves to bring in new ones in spring. Falling leaves reminds me the old is past and new to come. Take care. Thanks for the thought. Good day.

So sad that they took away the trees.

Autumn is always a somber time for me, it reminds me that things are coming to an end. Your poem was wonderful and well done.
