once bore
the weight
children running
of family
and their guests
Wooden house
once held
within both
joys and sorrows
that befall
each life
Disheveled garage
reveals
remnants
of the lives
that once
were free to
exercise
as natures
guest
with wooden oar
upon her
moistened breast
weights to
strengthen tone
camp light seen
against its wall
abandoned dreams
a telling place
life and nature
at its best
in balance as we
all should be
a life once filled
with memories.

Indeed. I love your poetic attribute to the lives once lived. Perhaps they have moved on and now command motorboats powered with much horsepower; or canoes powered with much muscle power. I suspect that they still camp.
Thanks for posting this.
for humans, there is nothing more personal than a house, such memories, such history. it will tell stories to those who lived it, to those who felt it. :)
Hi Pauline! Love this post. The photos go so well...leaving one's lived-in-home and moving on...
When young, we have many dreams but somehow as we grow older, they just evaporate!
Life is about moving on even when dreams are crashed. Your post gave me many reminisces about dreams and life. Thank you.
goatman, A contractor purchased this lovely home and tore it down in order to build two units on the land. I do not know the story of the people yet somehow its condition touched me leaving me bewildered.
ghost, this home had a great deal of history. We will never hear its story now. I fear the people either died or fled as the back of the house had been vandalised and left open to the elements.
twilite, yes dreams do not always stand the test of time. I am pleased if this post gave you time to reflect.
memories in the dust.. :), theres always something hauntingly sad about old houses, all the laughter and struggles seem to be still held in its arms. Something baout houses, esp the older ones seem like they have a personality, a being to them.
beautiful expression, pauline!
I was away for a while on a trip.
How are you, dear friend?
